クワッドアクセルは仙台で一人孤独に練習を続けてきた。「僕の心の中の９歳が『跳べ』と言っていた。
『お前下手くそだな』と言われて練習していた」と振り返る。「いろいろな方に手を差し伸べてもらったが、
最後に手を伸ばしてくれたのは９歳の自分。今回のアクセルは褒めてもらえた」と笑みを浮かべた。
－五輪は最後か。
「最後かと聞かれると、ちょっと分からない。やっぱり五輪をやってみて五輪は特別だなと思った。
すごく幸せな気持ち。また滑ってみたいという気持ちはもちろんある」
